Tell me what you are working on
An advisory engagement, a speaking invitation, a research collaboration, a role you are hiring for, or something that fits no category at all. I read everything.
Send a message
Goes to my inbox. Your address stays between the two of us, and it goes on no list.
Or book thirty minutes
Pick a time that works. Thirty minutes is usually enough to work out whether there is something here worth pursuing.
Other ways, and what helps
Message me directly
The place I check most often, and where I post everything I write. If you would rather see the work before writing, start there.
If you are recruiting for a role
My full career history is on LinkedIn and kept current there, so I do not post a CV here. Send the role, the scope, and who it reports to. If it is a fit I will say so quickly, and if it is not I will tell you that just as quickly.
What to include in an enquiry
Your organization and where it sits on the open source maturity curve, the specific problem, whether there is a deadline, and who else needs to be in the room. That is usually enough for me to say yes, no, or ask two questions.
What to include in an invitation
Date, city, audience, format, and session length. If you have a topic in mind, the Speaking page lists what I cover.
Usually two business days
I am selective about what I take on, which means the things I commit to get my full attention. If something is time-sensitive, say so at the top of your message.
