Strategic advisory: I advise Fortune 500 companies, technology startups, foundations, and government bodies on open source strategy, governance, compliance, and ecosystem development. Engagements range from board-level guidance on open source policy and risk to deep-dive operational support for teams building or scaling their open source practice. Every engagement is hands-on, outcomes-oriented, and grounded in 25+ years of experience.
How can we work together?
Speaking engagements: I speak at industry conferences, corporate leadership forums, and executive briefings on the topics defining open source and AI today. My presentations combine technical depth with strategic perspective, informed by leadership roles (Linux Foundation, LF AI & Data Foundation, PyTorch Foundation) that have shaped how the world builds and governs open source software. I am available for keynotes, panel discussions, and private executive briefings. Representative topics include:
Research and publishing: I have authored/co-authored 7 books, 18 e-books, and 150+ technical reports on the technical, compliance, and strategic dimensions of open source software. I collaborate with organizations to develop white papers, thought leadership content, and original research that advance the industry conversation and establish your organization’s voice in it.
Project support: Some of the most valuable work does not fit a standard engagement model. I offer hands-on collaboration for unique, high-stakes open source initiatives, from early ideation through public launch, drawing on my experience as a developer, program manager, R&D leader, and executive director of two major open source foundations. If the initiative matters and the stakes are real, that is where I do my best work.
Ready to collaborate? I am selective about the engagements I take on, which means the ones I commit to get my full attention and experience. If you have a challenge worth solving, I want to hear about it.
