Dr. Ibrahim Haddad is a technology executive and open source strategist with 25+ years of experience helping organizations build open source strategies that reduce risk, accelerate innovation, and create competitive advantage. He advises Fortune 500 companies, technology leaders, foundations, and government bodies across the full open source lifecycle, from license compliance and SBOM management to contribution strategies, OSPO design, and ecosystem leadership.

Currently Head of Infotainment Engineering at Volvo Cars, Dr. Haddad leads the engineering organization delivering the next-generation Android-based in-vehicle infotainment platform, with full accountability for platform architecture, cybersecurity, regulatory compliance, and multi-vendor governance.

Previously, as Executive Director of LF AI & Data at the Linux Foundation, he built one of the world’s most influential open source AI ecosystems, growing it to 70+ projects and 100,000+ developers across 3,000 organizations. He subsequently co-founded and led the PyTorch Foundation as its inaugural Executive Director, uniting AMD, AWS, Google, Meta, Microsoft, and NVIDIA under a neutral governance model and doubling foundation revenues within a year.

Earlier, Dr. Haddad served as Vice President of R&D and Distinguished Engineer at Samsung Research Silicon Valley, where he built Samsung’s global open source engineering organization, defined enterprise-wide open source strategy, and led IP and technical due diligence for SamsungNEXT and Samsung Ventures. He has held senior leadership roles at Ericsson Research, Motorola, Palm, HP, and the Open Source Development Labs.

Dr. Haddad holds a Ph.D. with honors in Computer Science from Concordia University. He is the author/co-author of 7 books, 18 e-books, and 150+ technical reports on open source strategy, AI governance, and technology leadership, and is a frequent keynote speaker at global forums across North America, Europe, and Asia. He is professionally fluent in Arabic, English, and French.
