Dr. Ibrahim Haddad is a technology executive and open source strategist who helps organizations navigate the full lifecycle of open source, from license compliance and SBOMs to contribution strategies and launching new projects. He brings 20+ years of leadership experience spanning global enterprises, industry foundations, and collaborative ecosystems. Currently Head of Infotainment at Volvo Cars, Dr. Haddad leads the development of the next-generation in-vehicle infotainment system.

Previously, as Vice President of Strategic Programs at the Linux Foundation, he served as Executive Director of LF AI & Data, growing it into a trusted hub for open source AI innovation with 69 projects and over 100,000 developers from 3,000 organizations. He then became the founding Executive Director of the PyTorch Foundation, uniting industry leaders including AMD, AWS, Google Cloud, Meta, Microsoft, and NVIDIA to expand the PyTorch ecosystem, achieving rapid growth in adoption and community engagement.

Before the Linux Foundation, Dr. Haddad was Vice President of R&D and Distinguished Engineer at Samsung Research Silicon Valley, where he executed Samsung’s global open source strategy, led collaborative R&D initiatives, and contributed to corporate M&A and venture investments through SamsungNEXT. He has also held senior technology roles at Ericsson Research, Motorola, Palm, HP, and Open Source Development Labs, gaining deep experience managing distributed teams and bridging technical vision with operational execution.

Dr. Haddad holds a Ph.D. with honors in Computer Science from Concordia University. Having lived and worked across North America, Europe, and Asia, he is fluent in Arabic, English, and French. He writes extensively, speaks at global forums, and advises organizations on open source governance, emerging innovations, and strategic partnerships.
