Dr. Ibrahim Haddad is an accomplished technology executive with a proven track record of scaling global engineering organizations and shaping open source ecosystems. He currently serves as Head of Infotainment at Volvo Cars, leading the development of next-generation in-vehicle systems that integrate advanced connectivity, intelligent user experiences, and cutting-edge embedded technologies.

Previously, Dr. Haddad served as Vice President of Strategic Programs at the Linux Foundation, where he led the Executive Director of LF AI & Data, overseeing its growth into a trusted, vendor-neutral hub for open source AI innovation. Under his leadership, the foundation expanded to 69 projects, involving more than 100,000 developers from over 3,000 organizations worldwide, and fostering scalable, collaborative AI-driven solutions.

As the founding Executive Director of the PyTorch Foundation, he brought together industry leaders including AMD, AWS, Google Cloud, Meta, Microsoft, and NVIDIA, to expand the PyTorch ecosystem. In just 18 months, he grew its adoption, ecosystem reach, and community engagement while ensuring strong operational and financial stewardship.

Before the Linux Foundation, Dr. Haddad served as Vice President of R&D and Distinguished Engineer at Samsung Research Silicon Valley, where he executed Samsung’s global open source strategy, spearheaded internal and external collaborative R&D initiatives, and contributed to corporate M&A and venture investment efforts through SamsungNEXT. He also represented Samsung in numerous industry foundations and governance boards, shaping policies and partnerships for large-scale collaborative projects.

Dr. Haddad has held senior technology and portfolio leadership roles at Ericsson Research, Motorola, Palm, HP, and Open Source Development Labs, gaining deep experience in managing distributed teams, delivering scalable solutions in complex environments, and bridging technical vision with operational execution.

He holds a Ph.D. with honors in Computer Science from Concordia University (Canada), has lived and worked across North America, Europe, and Asia, and is fluent in Arabic, English, and French. He writes extensively, presents at global forums, and advises on emerging innovations, governance, and strategic partnerships to support the initiatives he drives.
